This was one section of 408 individual pieces that made up one of two chandeliers destined for a new cruise ship.
Diamonds In The Sky
Very quickly put together (wrinkle in the fabric as proof) experiment with fibres behind a fabric. We’ll try and develop this over the next couple of weeks. When the light source is turned off the fibres are invisible. So there may be possibilities for design here?
Our staff member and resident artist Paula Constantine created this woven ball of sparkling light with wired sparkle fibre. We think it has potential for a chandelier application – maybe 10 or 12 sparkling balls of different diameters over a drop of 5 metres?
A bundle of 600 wired sparkle fibres is a challenge to organise. The result will be published soon.
